Growing Up AFRO Day: Free Fall Baltimore Weekend
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Spend the afternoon reminiscing about childhood memories with a variety of activities and programs including digital photo archive demonstrations, an introduction to oral history and a discussion about the desegregation of Baltimore’s Gwynn Oak amusement park with author Amy Nathan.
11 a.m. Growing Up AFRO and Oral History: Bring your family to participate in mini-oral history sessions and learn how to conduct an oral history interview. Participants are encouraged to being a recording device. To register, please call 443-263-1816.
Noon - 2 p.m. Digital Demonstrations: Learn how to archive your family photos with a digitalization demo by Project Gado. Participants can bring photos to the demonstration.
1 p.m. Round and Round Together: Ending Segregation at Gwynn Oak Amusement Park (Discussion & Book Signing): Join author Amy Nathan and participants of the Gwynn Oak protests and learn how this Baltimore amusement park was desegregated during the Civil Rights Movement.
