All Baltimore Voices: Stories About & Beyond the Unrest

Join for storytelling, spoken word, and a panel discussion at this event that recognizes the one-year anniversary of the Baltimore Unrest. The public is invited to share personal stories about, before, or beyond the Baltimore Unrest in story circles during a storytelling workshop led by Dr. Karsonya ("Kaye") Whitehead of Loyola University.

It is followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Brian Morrison, founder of the William J. Watkins, Sr. Educational Institute; Makayla Gilliam Price, senior at Baltimore City College public high school and activist; and Katrina Bell McDonald, Associate Professor of Sociology, Johns Hopkins University.

Poet Kondwani Fidel, who has been called "Luzerne [Avenue's] Poet Laureate" by Baltimore City Paper performs a spoken word tribute. Workshop participants then present their stories.

Free admission. Refreshments provided. For more information, to participate in the storytelling workshop, and or to present your stoop story, please e-mail Terry Taylor by clicking here. This program is sponsored by the Maryland Humanities Council.
