BMORE Than The Story: Opening Day
Reception, Community Forum, and Performances
The students of "The Positive Social Change Theater/Performing Arts Program" at Augusta Fells Savage High School present a theatrical conversation to achieve healing, understanding, and hope entitled "A Turn Up 4 A Rise Up: A Hope Story." The piece uses the power of theater, spoken word poetry, positive rap, dance, and song used to show societal inequities and possible solutions to them for a better tomorrow for us all. The performance, along with a community forum, are part of the opening day program of the exhibition BMORE Than The Story. This exhibit curated by ASFIVA students and graphic design students from the University of Maryland College Park (UMD) addresses the one-sided media portrayal and the realities of the Baltimore students’ lives. A reception follows the performance.
