Sneak Preview Screening w/ Wes Moore: All The Difference
(66 minutes) Preview All the Difference before its nationwide release on PBS. The film was selected to be part of PBS' 29th season of POV, a series of thought-provoking documentaries.
The documentary and media outreach project is inspired by Wes Moore’s New York Times bestselling book, The Other Wes Moore. The largely invisible and often crushing struggles of young African American men come vividly — and heroically — to life in All the Difference, which traces the paths of two teens from the South Side of Chicago who dare to dream a seemingly impossible dream: to graduate from college. Filmed over five and a half years, the documentary weaves together the stories of Robert and Krishaun as they navigate their lives from broken homes and low-income, high-risk communities to attend college, in spite of all the odds. Learn about the factors that made all the difference for these young men. A post-film discussion on black male students and higher education follows with Moore.
Doors at 6pm. Screening at 6:30pm. Taharka Brothers will distribute free ice cream before the screening while supplies last.
In conjunction with the exhibition Question Bridge: Black Males.
A co-production of American Documentary | POV; Part of American Graduate: Let's Make It Happen, made possible by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Presented in partnership with Maryland Public Television.
