Coming Fall 2017 is a Revamped Lewis Lobby

Baltimore, Maryland, June 12, 2017 - The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is revamping its first floor. The Museum Café, Shop and our Lewis Now exhibit are all closing down for the summer and being redesigned to serve our visitors better.

Our museum shop will have a completely new look with intimate seating areas, a performance stage and a wider selection of books and crafts from Maryland based artists. Lewis Now will be expanded to allow for more space and exposure for our most timely exhibit space that takes a closer look at the issues facing African Americans in Maryland today.

During our revamp we will still offer boxed lunches to our visiting schools and the very best in catering services for our groups. We encourage you to visit with us this fall to see our revamped lobby.

The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is Maryland’s largest museum dedicated to the State’s African American experience. A Smithsonian affiliate, the museum engages visitors through its permanent and special exhibitions, resource center, as well as programs such as its film series, live music performances, and family programming. For more information visit and follow us on IG/ Twitter @lewismuseum.
