June 16, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

From Sugar Cane to Cotton is a memoir about the life and times of Jamaican born and former Penn State Football player Ricardo Rowe. Ricardo carefully navigated his life’s story to tackle tough social issue’s like race relations, the need for more diversity in an ever changing world, child abuse etc. He gives his view on the Penn State football scandal from a former player’s perspective. He takes a tough look at racism, and how it’s effecting our world, and the need for more planned communities, like Columbia Maryland. This book has a little bit for everybody, sports fans, community leaders, or just someone looking for an enjoyable read.

Ricardo Rowe was born in Hanover Jamaica, in a place called Phoenix Town. At the age of seven he migrated to Columbia Maryland. Ricardo is now leading grass roots efforts in his home country to install miniature lending libraries in poor neighborhoods in Jamaica. A book signing along with Caribbean music and light refreshments will followed.
