Bring your Hopkins ID and experience a day at the Lewis Museum – FREE! There will be music, films, art activities and of course our breathtaking exhibitions and permanent collection. This is a day for the entire family.
10 am to 3 pm – First Floor
Children’s Program: Drop In Black History Collage Art Activity
Tour: Roland Freeman’s Arabbers: Life in the City Streets Exhibition
10 am to 4 pm – Second Floor
- Children’s Animated Short Film: Dropping in on Romare Bearden (20 minutes) – 10am & 10:30am
- Art Film: Black is the Color (52 minutes) – 11am & 3pm
Exhibit Expressions Dance Showcases by Dance Baltimore – 1 pm & 2 pm
- Dance Ensemble will present dance interpretations of artist Romare Bearden and his artwork.
- US Postal Service Gregory Hines’ Stamp Dedication @ 1pm
Tour: Romare Bearden: Visionary Artist Exhibition
Pop Up Musical Program: Baltimore Symphony Musicians – Noon
Musicians will perform African American spirituals and the jazz selection Sea Breeze composed by Romare Bearden.
Noon – 2:30 pm – Maryland Permanent Collection
- Heritage Museum Tours (30 minutes) – Noon, 1:30pm, 2:30pm
Refreshments will be served on the 2nd floor while supplies last.
