WHAT: Celebrate KWANZAA at the Lewis Museum Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 11am – 4pm. This cultural event will include activities for the entire family: art activities, cooking demonstrations, readings, music, dance, financial health discussions and more. Kaiser Permanente, our annual health and wellness community partner will be on site as well with great information on staying healthy in the new year. Admission for the day is $5 for all.
Activity highlights and special guests include:
- 11 am – For Kids: Kwanzaa Live! with Culture Queen
- 12 pm – Kwanzaa Stamp Unveiling – US Postal Service
- 1:30 pm – Kwanzaa Recipes Food Demo Presentation- Black Girls Cook
- 2 pm – Fashion Show – Regal Royale: A Wearable Art Presentation
- 2:30 pm – Wakanda Comic Book Workshop – East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention
- 3 pm – KWANZAA Ceremony
